curiosity

Just like any other day i was travelling from home to office . BMTC buses and then the kind of crowd i was surrounded with was really irritating . four people sitting next to me were discussing really loud about some topic in kannada , from where i could gather just this much that they were discussing on how bad bangalore has went after people pouring in from every where to this state . As if its not serving any benefit to them huh ?

               Karnataka state has 2nd lowest un employed youth , isn't it a sign that people of karnataka has also grown with the city. But can somebody really make them understand ? i do not think so . At least  i do not have courage to do so .Somebody was playing some hindi song in loud from back seat .irritating !!! 50% of the people on phone struggling to convince people on other end why what they think is good way to conclude on what so ever topic they might be discussing . Irritating :( 

                   suddenly my friend who was sitting next to me decided to leave the bus in between as it was horrible traffic on that day , and after saying bye i was again lost in thought about if this traffic problem is a real problem ? well i doubt as i think its a impossible to solve a problem which doesn't exist. Unless until people do not start using public transport this can not happen and people wont choose to try public  transport as they see the kind of traffic there is on road , one would always prefer to sit in a AC car witch a music tuned as per choice. I could hear fadedly a voice "Software Engineer ala?" . again lost in thought - why we can not talk about solutions rather than problem ? every one knows this is a problem , i think high time BMTC should try out few things like trying Point to Point solution rather than one bus stopping at all - Banning Private buses on Road  during 8am-8pm. Growing BMTC buses height wise rather then length wise . i do not understand whats the point of trying something which you know for sure will not work . Double decker buses are the answer to bangalore situation. 

"Software Engineer ala?" again the same voice in a higher pitch . 

i realized it was directed toward me .

" yes sir"

 i replied annoyingly because next thing people ask how much you earn ?  

What are you so upset about ? yen problem babu ? ella okay ? the person asked again against what i predicted 

Yes sir i am fine thankYou . 

first time i glanced at the guy , must be in his 80s . but very bright and full of energy face and body language. 

where are you from babu ? 

i am from Bihar sir- I replied 

then how do you know kannada ?

i teach slum kids for that i have learned local language 

oh nice , so you are software engineer 

yes sir i am 

what is software ?

now this is something i had not anticipated - 

i answered with soem real life example of banking 

Then what is Hardware ?

what is network ?

what is Server ? 

who is client ?

what is desktop ? and few more 

i tried to answer all of them with some relevant examples. The guy seems quite satisfied

very easy to understand babu , thankYou for telling . wanted to understand this for long time

i am also electrical engineer , but never got a chance to work on computers , before they came i retired 

     well and we continued for few more minutes on few more technical term and it was going so well that i forgot traffic , about the loud discussion , about the loud music in background and felt good with the realization that   

its not the age which makes you look old , its all in the mind . people who like to learn, learn all their life irrespective of age,Gender . They find ways to learn them. and i must say i was amazed by level of curiosity i saw in those 80 year old eyes.

सोचता है दिल क्यों लगती है ये राहे अनजान

अब जो हमे फुर्सत का लम्हा मयस्सर नहीं  होता
  फीर किस्से रूठना और किसको मनाना , सोचता है दिल बेचारा

सीधी सी थि ये जिंदगी जब खुशियाँ हमे ढूंढती थी

   अब हम उस ठंढक को बाजारू बर्तनों में ढूंढते है

मिले है जो ये दो पल , आओ बैठें बातें करें
    खोजे तो सही की किसने बनाया मुझको तुमसे  अनजान

    चलो साथ ख़ोज लायें वो मासूम मुस्कान

Oh ya i have never been blogging about the restaurants i have been visiting.But i must say the reason might be sometime i get boggled by the price (yes i find it complete waste to spend 600 for lunch just because the plate in which food is being served is costly and Food is useless)  , sometime by Ambiance and most of the time by service.
                         So here we end up being in another newbie restaurant on suggestion of one of my colleague and We reached there by 1:15 for lunch. Well The ambiance was nice if not impressive. It had all those Bengali style painting all over walls and nice home type envio and was observing it closely as in my Home state bihar also we have some similar painting but look at this, its already 1:45 and we are yet to receive starters we had ordered.. Wohaaa now 2:15 - Yet to receive starters :( and that is where we started getting impatient. But that is where they started serving and boy once they started there was a pin drop Silence among the group.every one was so busy with the food people barely had time to talk about "other" things.
                          After having a mixed experience at the restaurant
this is how i rate it among different categories

Taste :            4.5/5
Ambiance       3/5
Cleanliness     3/5  (washroom was pathetic)
Service           2.5/5
cost effective:   4/5 (i am talking about the real price not the offered through snapdeal or toogle  )
People who love to Drink - this is not the right place for you as they DO NOT serve alcohol along with the food . And yeah no roof top concept though i did saw a considerably open area

if you are planning to go do give them a call before you start. as they do take some time before they actually start appearing with your ordered foods.

The best part about the restaurant was it was insanely reasonable and we enjoyed our team lunch pretty much

Will i go again ??? Hmm only if i am in mood to eat  nice mustard oil cooked food and yeah with my GF as i will have all the time in this world  to wait for, till they serve:)

How to reach ?? Well google it am sure their map is more accurate than my directions but in short its in Jeevan beema Nagar .

A runner wants to run a certain distance - let us say 100 meters - in a finite time. But to reach the 100-meter mark, the runner must first reach the 50-meter mark, and to reach that, the runner must first run 25 meters. But to do that, he or she must first run 12.5 meters.
Since space is infinitely divisible, we can repeat these 'requirements' forever. Thus the runner has to reach an infinite number of 'midpoints' in a finite time. This is impossible, so the runner can never reach his goal. In general, anyone who wants to move from one point to another must meet these requirements, and so motion is impossible, and what we perceive as motion is merely an illusion

A Better India A Better World

Reading The better India the better world and also trying to put the book thought in my words with few examples from my side. Its a good book and worth reading. This book is basically  is a collection of Mr Narayan murthy lectures at different places across the globe. It covers wide perspective form Politics to foreign trade to law and Of course technology

Few Good Points from the book

1.We have to recognize that public sector interest is not  public interest and interest of government is not the interest of the people

2.The biggest bane of our thousand year old enslavement is apathy.the main reason of our poverty is our unwillingness to take proactive action when solution is is standing right infront of us staring at our face

3.We have learned and mastered the skill of escaping from our responsibilities to solve our problem by blaming  our destiny

What to learn from west ?

4. Apathy in addressing the community matters has held us back from making progress which is otherwise within our reach. We do see and waste our time in analyzing the problems around us but never try to solve them .We behave as if the problem do not exist at all or as if they belong to some one else. In the West people  people approach societal problem proactively. reason??- we were ruled by foreigners for over a thousand years so we have always believed that public or societal issues belong to some foreign ruler and  we have no responsibility to solve them. We are so used to follow orders and hence a very very weak decision making capabilities.in Short in Aristotle words "We are what we repeatedly do" sounds so right.

eg:40 year old suggestion by irrigation expert to conquer the problem of drought and flood was to create a water grid consisting all the rivers from north and south.as of now no action being taken in that direction

5.Another important trait what we Indian can learn from west is accountability.In the west irrespective of your position you are held accountable for what you do where as in India the more important you are the less responsible you are

may be a little from their professionalism in dealing business

Corruption ?? is it really invincible

A positive example of how corruption can could be fought. Few years ago a minister of singaporean community was charged for corruption and was found guilty after primary investigation. He ran to PM asking if there was something what could be done to save his honor  but after getting a negative reply and understanding it very clearly that his career is actually over and he will be punished he came back and put a bullet in his head. Think how strong message was sent by this action?

The Story of man with a vision

Some body who was more worried about practical problems out there rather than just teaching economics ..and with a belief that universities should not be an island where academics attain higher and higher knowledge without sharing any of it knowledge...

Some body wanted to understand if banks are there to help poor or just to  make wealthy wealthier ??

   The story of a man who challenged almost every thing related to banking sector, be it credit scheme or the documentation process

Loved the way he questions the existing system , his sharp and to the point question about the very existence of banking rules and achieving such a grand success having zero banking experience is a credit in itself.

    Though the book is a little lengthy but its a nice read and people who have seen rural area problems will be able to connect to it in a better way . There are some real learning’s here that can be applied in the social lending arena. Grameen Bank has made $ 3.4 billion dollars in loans to 2.4 million people. Yes … that’s an average loan size of $1,400. This is an extraordinary figure, that normal banks would sneer at, as being unprofitable, and impossible to process at a profit.

                     I loved the first and second that is beginning and Experimental part Though i find the replicating that is part !V a little boring. Philosophy is another must read section. In short it was worth spending my sunday morning for this book ..
